Elon Musk, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, floated changes to the way the social media platform verifies user accounts, including charging $8 per month for the privilege

Only a few days after Elon Musk, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, floated changes to the way the social media platform verifies user accounts, including charging $8 per month for the privilege.

Twitter appears to have started rolling out a new tier of Twitter Blue, its premium service, that reflects some of Musk's suggestions.

Priority ranking for "quality content" will be another feature of the revamped, more expensive Twitter Blue, which promises to increase subscribers' exposure in responses, mentions, and searches. It also claims that this would reduce "scams, spam and bots".

Initially, it will be made available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. Currently, the Twitter Blue will only support iOS devices.
