Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, replacing Idowu Owohunwa who was recently promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
The announcement was made in a police wireless message dated December 11, 2023, and signed by the Nigeria Police Force Secretary on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police.
The posting is effective immediately. The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Fayoade's deployment to the Lagos command.
