"Nigerian youths are lazy and uneducated. Always wanting free oil money"

President Muhammadu Buhari has made  the greatest mistake by making this devastating statement. Let us reason together and there are some questions begging for answers here:-

Question 1 : What is the level of unemployment rate in Nigeria for the past three years? Is it decreasing or increasing?

Firstly, before you can say someone is lazy, you must have provided work for him or her to do? How many jobs has the current administration provided for the youths? Yes, you can say their is Npower? How much is taken home income compared to other countries’ earning graduates salary? Even Npower stuff is biase and sentimental. Precisely, the ongoing second one this year. The beneficiaries have been kept on suspense since this while.

Question 2: If all the Nigerian youths are lazy, how many graduates are produced in tertiary institutions every year? Is it decreasing or increasing?

Secondly, the number of youths graduating every year from tertiary institutions in Nigeria are increasing in geometrical progression. Kudos to the youths at least they are empowering themselves to get the minimum of first degree. Despite the rigorousity in their learning citadel. You see now, it is the government that is failing to provide jobs for  these youths.

The government is emphasing that the youths should be self reliant. But the same government has neglected their duty to provide financial assistant to the youths. Even if the government should do this, it would be available to those in their inner circle [the senators’ children, governors’ brothers, etc ] . Then who is deceiving who?

Question 3:  Who are the people in the presidency cabinets? Is there any youth there?

No. Obviously, it majorly comprises of those who are past governors or those who held key position in past. Now, you see the youths are not given chance to rule. How will this country grow in wrong leadership state? Those leading us are expert in corruption and criminal act.

Conclusively, Nigerian youths are not lazy and not always wanting free oil money. It is the government who failed to provide refinery to refine the crude oil due to their corrupt act.

RECOMMENDATIONS
  1. Government should provide jobs every year for the Nigerian youths.
  2. Youths should participate in governance. Since they contributed actively to the labour force
  3. Adequate infrastructures should be provided. Social amenities should provided for the citizens
  4. Educational curriculum should be revised. More practical and entrepreneurial courses should be included. Not alone that, money should be awarded to kick start immediately. Many skills are killed when there is no capital.
